Introducing the Posedla, Joyseat - Test Review by, Anders Lyk

We asked CCC staff member and gravel champ 2025 in his AG, Anders Lyk, to take the Posedla Joyseat through the test before we introduced this high-end saddle producer into our portfolio of brands that we would buy ourselves. Here is what Anders had to say. Enjoy.

"I recently had the opportunity to try a custom-made saddle from Posedla. Not just one molded to your sit bones, but one 3D-printed to fit you specifically. Having struggled in the past to find the right saddle—I once spent two hours with a bike fitter trying different options, only to return the one I bought—I was understandably skeptical at first.
The process begins by ordering your saddle of choice on Posedla’s website. Soon after, you receive a Smiling Butt Kit: a carefully packaged foam pad used to make a mold of your rear. Sitting on it in tight-fitting underwear, as instructed, I couldn’t help thinking how ridiculous it seemed—surely no one can determine the perfect saddle from just a mold of your backside. But Posedla doesn’t rely on that alone. In addition, you send nine specifically angled photos and complete a detailed questionnaire covering age, weight, sex, riding style, training habits, flexibility, and more. It takes some time to fill out, but thoroughness here feels worthwhile. Finally, you choose a color and optional text to appear inside the generous saddle cut-out, and Posedla gets to work.
Four to six weeks later, your new saddle arrives. Mine came toward the longer end of that range, accompanied by a personalized note explaining why the saddle was built the way it was: the chosen shape, length, and width, as well as why some areas of the padding are soft and others firm.
And here’s the surprising part: it works. Perfectly. I haven’t had a single issue since switching to this saddle—no hotspots, no discomfort, no “bad saddle days” that would tend to strike on race days. Instead, I feel more grounded and stable, as though I’m supported across the entire saddle rather than perched on just a section of it. The only adjustment has been getting used to the honeycomb texture of the 3D-printed padding, but that has quickly faded into the background.
In short, Posedla proved me wrong. Based on a mold, some photos, and a questionnaire, they delivered the most comfortable and stable saddle I’ve ever used. For riders who have struggled to find the right fit, this may well be the end of the search"

Now, go get a Smiling Butt Kit at the CCC store, or have it shipped directly, and let's prove to you why we work with Posedla.
